These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of NEXTCUT, a booking and rebooking platform for independent barbershops, operated by Cassandra Christa Tiapis ("NEXTCUT," "we," "us," "our"), based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
By creating an account, using the NEXTCUT dashboard, or booking an appointment through a NEXTCUT-powered page, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
There are two types of users under these Terms:
Some sections apply to both; others are specific to one or the other, as noted.
NEXTCUT provides software that helps independent barbershops manage bookings, send automated reminders, and re-book clients based on their typical haircut frequency ("cut cycle"). Features may include a barber dashboard, a client-facing booking page, SMS/email notifications, and payment processing support (via Stripe).
We may add, change, or remove features over time as the product develops. NEXTCUT is currently in active development and pilot testing -- features, pricing, and availability may change.
By providing your phone number when booking an appointment or creating an account, you consent to receive SMS text messages from NEXTCUT and the barbershop you're booking with. This may include appointment confirmations, reminders, and (if enabled) automatic rebooking notifications.
Message frequency varies based on your bookings and the shop's settings. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of booking an appointment or using NEXTCUT.
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Reply HELP for help.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Shops: You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account, including actions taken by staff you give access to.
Clients: You don't need a NEXTCUT account to book an appointment, but if one is created for you (e.g., to track your cut cycle or auto-book preferences), you're responsible for keeping any login details secure.
Either party may terminate an account at any time by contacting hello@next-cut.ca.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
New shops receive a 30-day free trial. Once a paid plan applies:
Failure to pay may result in suspension of your account until payment is resolved.
Appointments booked through NEXTCUT are agreements between the client and the barbershop -- NEXTCUT is the platform facilitating the booking, not a party to the haircut service itself. Cancellation policies, no-show fees, and deposit requirements (if any) are set by the individual shop, not by NEXTCUT.
Where NEXTCUT processes payment on behalf of a shop (via Stripe), standard Stripe processing terms and Canadian payment regulations apply.
NEXTCUT's Auto-Book feature may automatically schedule a client's next appointment based on their historical cut cycle. Clients can review, change, or cancel any auto-booked appointment before it's finalized, as described in the app. Shops are responsible for configuring Auto-Book settings appropriately for their business (e.g., cancellation windows, confirmation requirements).
NEXTCUT is not liable for scheduling conflicts, missed appointments, or client dissatisfaction arising from Auto-Book bookings that were not reviewed or cancelled in time by either party.
NEXTCUT owns all rights to the platform's software, design, and branding. Shops retain ownership of their own branding (shop name, logo, content they upload) and grant NEXTCUT a limited license to display that branding within their NEXTCUT-powered booking pages and dashboard, solely for the purpose of providing the service.
Use of NEXTCUT is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how it's used. By using NEXTCUT, you agree to that policy as well.
Shops are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent from their clients to collect and process client information through NEXTCUT, and for complying with applicable privacy laws in how they use client data outside the platform.
We aim to keep NEXTCUT available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or issues outside our control (e.g., outages at Supabase, Vercel, Twilio, or other providers we rely on).
NEXTCUT is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Canadian law.
We may suspend or terminate access to NEXTCUT for any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a security risk to the platform or other users. Shops may cancel their account at any time; some data may be retained temporarily as described in the Privacy Policy before deletion.
We may update these Terms as NEXTCUT evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify active shop accounts. Continued use of NEXTCUT after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
